9-1-1 Season 4 and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 2 confirmed by FOX
FOX is on a roll with renewal and cancellation decisions. After setting the fate for Deputy, 9-1-1 Season 4 and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 2 are confirmed.
FOX has made renewal and cancellation decisions lately. Deputy and Duncanville have been the latest on the list, and now it’s time for the two most popular shows on the network. Is it any surprise that 9-1-1 Season 4 and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 2 are confirmed?
Of course, it’s not! The idea of FOX canceling the two shows was ridiculous, and not just because they are excellent shows. The two are the top-rated TV shows on the network in the live ratings. We can only expect the delayed and Hulu viewings to be even higher. However, it’s always welcoming to see the renewals confirmed, which TVLine does.
When will 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star air new seasons?
The big question now is when the shows will air their new seasons. While they’re renewed for the 2020-2021 seasons, there’s no guarantee that they will air when usually planned. It wouldn’t have been surprising had the two shows been planned for the fall seasons. Or 9-1-1 Season 4 may have aired in the fall and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 2 takes the slot in the winter waiting for the second half of the parent show.
But all plans will be changing right now. Despite renewal, only planning and writing can take place as they can both be done virtually. Filming won’t be able to happen until the coronavirus pandemic comes to an end.

Could we see a crossover?
Now that both shows have been renewed, could we see a crossover happen? There was nothing official in 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 1, but Erin Karpluk did guest star as Pepper, a character she played in the first season of the parent show.
At the end of Lone Star, we also learned that the universes are definitely the same. Judd mentioned that he’d heard of a firefighter in LA who had survived a piece of rebar through the brain. Yes, he most definitely meant Chimney.

9-1-1 Season 3 continues on Mondays at 8/7c on FOX.
