ABC has made some decisions about the 2023–2024 season. The Company We Keep is one of those shows, and it is bad news for fans.
Milo Ventimiglia landed a new ABC series this year, and it has been good fun. The series sees him and his family as con artists, but they’re “good” con artists. Think of them as the Dexters of the con world. They don’t go after innocent people but con the bad guys.
After a disastrous ending to a con in the pilot episode, Milo’s character takes off for a few days. He ends up meeting a CIA agent. The two are honest with each other, but they don’t believe each other. And so starts a forbidden love story.
Why is The Company You Keep canceled?
There was some bad news over the weekend. ABC canceled The Company You Keep after just one season, according to TVLine.
The decision likely comes down to the live viewership. It just hasn’t gained the audience that ABC would have wanted for it, especially on a Sunday following two hours of American Idol.
The Season 1 finale will now act as the series finale. This is not the way fans of the show want to see this story end. After all, while it did end in a way that made sense for the characters, it’s not a happy ending for fans of the show. It’s clear the writers had more ideas for the second season.
