Is Accused canceled or renewed for Season 2?

FOX is starting to make some firm decisions for the 2023–2024 season. Will Accused Season 2 happen, or is the anthology series done after one season?

Accused is a great look at failings within the justice system. It’s also a good look at how there is more to a story. There have been a couple of problematic episodes, such as the most recent one with a teacher falsely accused of statutory rape, but the majority of the episodes have offered some through-provoking tales. You can’t tell me you haven’t had a bias about the episodes until you’ve seen the full story play out.

Will there be more to these tales? Will we get to see more actors take on a role and tell a story for one episode? What has FOX decided?

Accused Season 2 is happening at FOX

There is some excellent news. TVLine announced that Accused is renewed for a second season.

This could be somewhat surprising when you consider the average live viewership includes the one-off episode after one of the NFL championships games. Of course that was going to see a large audience tuning in. The episodes have seen big dips since then, but the figures seem to be steadying out. The streaming numbers may be even better, but Hulu isn’t going to share all of them.

Will the series remain as part of the midseason? That is possible, but I think it will depend on this upcoming writer’s strike. If it happens in May, it’s going to affect shows that are renewed at the last minute and the pilots picked up in May. We may see shows like Accused and Alert: Missing Persons Unit moved to the fall to cover the gap.
