What’s coming to Amazon Prime Video in May 2021?

We’re getting ready for a new month, and that means some great new content arriving on Amazon Prime Video. Here’s everything coming in May 2021.

The month is on the quieter side than normal. That’s the case with the majority of streaming services and premium cable networks right now. With the way things work on filming, the production shutdowns in the first half of 2020 have a knock-on effect now.

That being said, there are more Amazon Originals coming in May 2021 than arrived in April 2021. One of those is a highly anticipated adaptation of the novel The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead.

The novel is in the period fantasy genre, and the series is from Oscar-winner Barry Jenkins, so you know it’s bound to be amazing. It follows Cora Randall, who escapes from slavery and heads out for the Underground Railroad. She believes it’s just a metaphor, but she soon realizes that there’s a real railroad underneath the Antebellum South.

Skyfall, Nanny McPhee, and much more

While it’s quiet, it’s not silent on Amazon Prime Video. The first of the month sees the arrival of some excellent movies to watch with the whole family—and some to watch when the kids go to bed.

If you’re looking for something family friendly, Nanny McPhee ($) and its sequel will both arrive on Amazon Prime Video. It’s a fun tale similar to Mary Poppins of a nanny who suddenly appears out of nowhere and gets all the more beautiful as her work is complete with her chosen family.

For the James Bond fans out there, Skyfall is on Prime this month. Daniel Craig steps back into the shoes of James Bond as he focuses on protecting M, whose past is back to haunt her. The whole of MI6 is in trouble, but will 007 fix everything before it’s too late?

There are also some more Amazon Originals arriving. One of those is a new series called Panic. It’s set in a forgotten rural town called Carp in Texas. Every summer, the graduating seniors complete challenges in an attempt to confront their deepest fears. They all have a chance to win life-changing money. Anyone can play, but only one will win. And they will risk their lives doing it.
