ABC is finally making decisions about some of its remaining shows. Big Sky is one of those on the list, but is it good news for the fans?
It’s that time of year when the networks make final decisions for the next TV season. This does often mean a bulk of bad news coming at once as the networks see the pilots and decide which shows to keep and which ones to remove to make room for the new shows.
What about Big Sky? Will the David E. Kelley series land a fourth season? Here’s what we know.
Is Big Sky Season 4 happening?
It is bad news for the fans. TVLine reports that the series has been canceled after just three seasons. The cancellation news came with freshman shows Alaska Daily and The Company You Keep also being canceled.
It doesn’t sound like the series is going to be shopped around after its cancellation. The third season finale did work as a series finale if necessary. One of the benefits of a show like this is that each of the storylines was contained to the season, so the cases were all wrapped up from one season to the next. It was just personal storylines that were left with some questions.
Why was the show canceled? Well, we’re looking at the live ratings for that. They did take a big dip in the third season, and the timeslot would have played a part in that. The Wednesday night 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot is not an easy one to succeed in.
