There are some big changes coming to Bob Hearts Abishola in Season 5. Which cast members are demoted to recurring?

There are some big changes coming to Bob Hearts Abishola in Season 5. We knew some changes were coming when it was made clear recently that the cast members would take some pay cuts. Well, it turns out that the pay cuts aren’t just per episode.

Like with the Dick Wolf shows on NBC, CBS is looking at cutting the amount of episodes most of the cast will be in. In total, 11 members of the current regular cast are being demoted from series regulars to recurring guest stars.

Who won’t be back full time on Bob Hearts Abishola Season 5?

According to TVLine, only two members of the cast will remain as series regulars. It won’t be surprising to hear that they are the two titular characters: Billy Gardell (Bob) and Folake Olowofoyeku (Abishola).

All others are demoted to recurring, and they are only guaranteed five episodes each. There is still set to be the full 22 episodes as of right now, but things could change should this writer’s strike happen and disrupt everything. Reducing the episode count has also been the way for broadcast networks to save money in the past.

Warner Bros. has released all those demoted from their exclusivity clauses in their contracts. The exclusivity clauses helps to keep schedules in order and prevents problems with filming schedules for other projects. Just look at how NCIS: Hawaii fans have wondered about Lucy’s whereabouts because Yasmin Al-Bustami has been filming other projects on the mainland.
