When will Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 premiere on NBC?

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 is happening, although it’s going to be the final season. When will we start our goodbyes to the characters?

On Feb. 11, we got the news nobody wants to hear about when it comes to their favorite TV shows. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is coming to an end with its upcoming eighth season. On top of that, the eighth season will be its shortest yet, coming in at just 10 episodes.

The bad news didn’t stop there. We found out that we won’t get a new episode of the cop comedy this season.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 is being pushed to next season

The 2020-2021 season is going to be Nine-Nine-less. The show was initially planned for this season, but then the writers scrapped the first four episodes and took another look at the stories to tell. It all happened in the wake of George Floyd’s murder and the Black Lives Matter protests.

How do you tell funny stories about the cops with everything that’s going on? The writers needed to take a step back, which meant pushing everything back.

Instead of rushing the story, NBC and the show decided to hold off until the 2021-2022 season to air Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8, despite it only being 10 episodes long.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Season 1 ($)

We don’t know when in the 2021-2022 season the season will run. It’s possible that it will take a fall slot. It makes sense to give it a final run in a good timeslot.

This will depend on how filming goes and whether the episodes are ready. Filming hasn’t started yet, according to Deadline.

Will the series be saved by another network or streaming service? That’s unlikely. It was a show decision to bring it to an end here. NBC hasn’t canceled the series.
