CBS renews two Chuck Lorre freshman sitcoms
If you’re a fan of Chuck Lorre comedies, you’ll be happy to hear the good news about his two freshman shows. CBS has renewed both.
CBS has trickled in the news about renewals and cancellations. There have certainly been some shocking decisions, such as the cancellation of Mom and NCIS: New Orleans, but there has also been some excellent news like the renewal of NCIS for its 19th season.
As the network starts to look at its 2021-2022 schedule, it needs to make final decisions. Two freshman comedies have performed well, but it’s taken a while to get the renewals to come through. That’s happened now, according to Deadline.

B Positive and United States of Al renewed
Both the newest Chuck Lorre comedies are coming back for their second seasons. B Positive and United States of Al got the good news, so you can feel happy to invest in them right now.
Their renewals aren’t all too surprising. They are performing well in the linear ratings. In fact, B Positive was the second of the new shows to receive extra episodes to its first season.
Sure, the shows haven’t been breakout hits, but that’s not too surprising. It takes comedy a little longer to find an audience, which is why networks tend to be on the more lenient side with the first seasons. This is a chance for them both to cement their audiences as more people tell their friends about them, especially as they will likely remain in CBS’s Thursday night slate.
B Positive will likely remain part of the fall lineup. It’s going to be interesting to see if United States of Al moves to the fall or remains a midseason show.
