Did [Spoiler] really die on Lucifer Season 5 Part 2?

Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 certainly upped the stakes with mayhem and trouble. The show also got rid of an original character.

Caution: There are spoilers from Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 in this post.

One thing Lucifer has managed to do despite network changes and uncertainty over its fate is keep its original characters. That is until now. Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 didn’t disappoint when it came to the big storyline, but it did mean losing the first original character.

The main focus of the eight episodes had been about God retiring and who would take over as the new God. However, Michael wanted more than just to become the new God. He wanted to bring the biggest war the angels had ever seen, and a few humans got in the way of that.

Up to Lucifer Season 5, Episode 14, we had some humorous moments. In fact, God did kill Dan Espinoza by blowing him up, but he brought Dan back just as quickly. All was good, but little did we know that we’d end up losing Dan in a heartbreaking way.

Did Dan really die on Lucifer Season 5, Part 2?

Dan had been kidnapped during Season 5, Episode 14. We had hoped that everyone would get him back. After all, even our favorite Devil felt the weight of things happening, and it was a race against time. Sadly, they didn’t get to Dan in time.

Dan was shot in the stomach and chest. While Chloe did get to him before he died and he was taken to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

This is a death that will be felt by everyone, including Luci and Maze. Everyone had some sort of connection to him. As Amenadiel said, Dan was a good man and a good father. Luci even said that it shouldn’t have been Dan.

To make it worse, Dan hasn’t gone to Heaven. Amenadiel went to Heaven to see where his best friend is, but Dan wasn’t there. Dan has gone to Hell, just as he feared he would.

Is there a way for Lucifer and Maze to get him back? We’re hoping that will be part of the Season 6 storyline because we need to see Dan get a chance as a happy ending.
