Dead to Me renewed for third and final season by Netflix
Dead to Me is coming back for a third season on Netflix. However, it’s also going to be the final season of the dark comedy.
If you were hoping for more of Dead to Me on Netflix, there’s some good and bad news. The third season is officially happening. However, Dead to Me Season 3 is officially set to be the final season.
Deadline reported the news, sharing that showrunner Liz Feldman has also inked an overall deal with the streaming service. Not only does it allow for the third season to head our way, but it means she’ll helm more projects that will come directly to Netflix. It’s possibly the reason for the end of Dead to Me, which is a CBS TV Studios collaboration. Netflix will likely want to manage its own shows.
What to expect on Dead to Me Season 3
Right now, we know nothing about the third season of the series, except that it’s the final season. The good news with this renewal is that it can be written as the final season.
Netflix has a bad habit of canceling after two or three seasons. Shows that end on cliffhangers at the end of either of these seasons run the risk of never finishing up their stories, meaning that fans are left disgruntled and don’t trust networks to keep future shows on the air. Netflix is gaining a bad reputation for this, which might explain its recent decision to start renewing shows with final season warnings.
Just recently, Lucifer Season 6 was picked up with a final (yes, this time final) season warning. The Kominsky Method has also been renewed for a third and final season. Fans deserve to see a rounded out ending, which these final season warnings offer.
All that we can guess is that Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini will return as Jen and Judy. There are also likely a few other characters to return as more secrets have been revealed.
