Doctor Who Season 12 is underway on TV. Tonight is the second episode of the season. How will you be able to stream online? Netflix? Hulu? Where?

Are you ready for the new season of Doctor Who? The second season with Thirteen kick-off on New Year’s Day, and now we’re onto our regular schedule. Doctor Who Season 12, Episode 2 airs tonight, but how can you watch it online? Will it be on Netflix? What about Amazon Prime?

If you’ve streamed Doctor Who in the past in the U.S., you’ll know that you usually watch through Amazon Prime. Sadly, that’s not going to be the case this season. Amazon has lost the rights to the show, and it’s heading to HBO Max.

However, HBO Max isn’t yet available. It won’t be out until later this year. Doctor Who Season 12 may be available right away, but that’s unlikely. Instead, we’ll likely see it head to HBO Max in December 2020. Most seasons preivously dropped a year after airing on BBC America or in time for the next season, and that may remain the case when the show moves.

You’ll need to watch on BBC America. The good news is that you can do this online. Follow the instructions on the Doctor Who New Year’s Day special streaming post for all those details you need.

Heading to Crave in Canada

For the Canadians out there, you won’t have any change. You’ll be able to stream the full season on Crave in the future. Unlike the likes of The Handmaid’s Tale and the upcoming Star Trek Picard, the episodes don’t air weekly on the streaming service. You’ll need to watch through CTV Sci-Fi Channel (formerly Space).

The good news is you can watch Space online through the app or on the computer. It’s possible to watch live or catch up on-demand.

If you’re waiting for it to come to Crave, you’ll be waiting about a year. Doctor Who Season 11 has only just arrived, timed with the release of the 12th season. So, we’re looking at December 2020.
