CBS has made some final decisions for TV shows on the network. Will East New York Season 2 happen, or has the cop drama been canceled?
Amanda Warren quickly shined as Regina Haywood in East New York. The freshman drama focused on her coming in as the new chief, ready to make some changes to make people in this working-class area of Brooklyn find faith and trust in the police in the area. It wasn’t easy, but she slowly showed that her methods worked.
Fans of the series want more to the story. CBS has finally made some decisions about the remaining shows on the network. Is this a show canceled or renewed?
East New York is canceled after 1 season
The decision came in shortly after CBS reversed the cancellation of SWAT. It’s bad news for the freshman cop drama. East New York is canceled after just one season.
Had SWAT remained canceled, the series would have been renewed, according to Deadline. It and the Shemar Moore show were fighting for the same timeslot on the network. The one thing holding renewals back for both of them was the deals between CBS and their production studios. For SWAT it was all about Sony’s wants, and for this series, it was all about Warner Bros.
With the decision to bring a 13-episode final season of the Shemar Moore drama, there was no room in the schedule or this newer cop drama. It is a blow to fans.
