Elite officially renewed for a fourth season by Netflix

Netflix is officially re-enrolling at Las Encinas. Elite Season 4 is a go. Here’s all we know, including characters who may not be returning.

Are you ready for more drama at Las Encinas? While it’s going to take a while to get to us, there’s some great news. Netflix has officially renewed Elite for a fourth season.

The cast shared the news through a Twitter video. Six members filmed from their homes, where they’re spending their lockdown, to let us know that they were coming back for another season. And we certainly couldn’t be happier! The question is whether the six filming are the only ones returning. Are we saying goodbye to some of our favorites?

Departure of some cast members

There’s a goodbye within the video. This suggests that we’re all definitely losing some of the cast members for Elite Season 4. Ester Expósito, Danna Paola, Mina El Hammani, and Jorge López we’re included in the Twitter video. However, according to TVLine, there’s no confirmation from Netflix or the show about this.

The exits won’t be too surprising. During the third season finale, some of the students left Las Encinas behind. Like in real life, they’ve finished school and are heading off to a new life. Polo also left the school but not in the happiest of circumstances when he was accidentally killed. Oops!

There is a new student at school. Omar joined Las Encinas. And then there’s Cayetana, who became the new janitor at the school.

When can we expect Elite Season 4?

Don’t expect the new season any time soon. Spain is on a strict lockdown, which is why all cast members were at home. There are no talks of opening the country for filming just yet. However, the writers will be able to get to work virtually so scripts are ready when lockdown is over.

Usually, it would take about 12 months from the official renewal after a season. We could see things take two years depending on how long lockdown goes on for in Spain.
