Will FBI: Most Wanted be renewed for a second season by CBS?
We’re at the time of year where eyes are on the changes of our favorite shows being canceled or renewed. Will FBI: Most Wanted land a second season?
Networks have some big decisions to make. While The CW has renewed almost everything and NBC has made some long-term renewals, other networks are still making decisions on individual shows. One of those networks is CBS. Our eyes are on FBI: Most Wanted and whether it will be renewed for a second season.
There are a number of factors that will go into when deciding to cancel or renew a series. One of those is the live TV ratings, which tells the network if there are enough eyes tuning in live for the advertisements. Since the advertisers are still the ones putting most of the money into broadcast networks, it’s not surprising that the networks want shows that will do well for them. However, more networks are looking at streaming services, which CBS has one of its own. Viewings on CBS All Access will also count.
We don’t get to know the viewer ratings through CBS All Access, but we do get an insight into the live ratings for FBI: Most Wanted. We can get an idea of whether the series is going to be canceled or renewed.
FBI: Most Wanted Season 2 will likely happen
Based on the live TV ratings, there’s a good chance that the FBI spin-off will be renewed. Looking at the average ratings, FBI: Most Wanted is a popular show on CBS. In fact, when the demo is taken into account, it’s the eighth most popular show (out of 24). It’s seventh out of 24 when you consider the total audience.
It also remains steady on Tuesday nights, holding up against the competition on other networks. With NBC renewing New Amsterdam and likely keeping the medical drama on Tuesday nights, it’s likely that CBS will renew FBI: Most Wanted to give the medical drama some tough competition.
Of course, there are always surprises. Hawaii Five-0 is ending after Season 10 despite the great live TV ratings, although that seems more like a show decision instead of a network one. We will also need to keep an eye on the ratings moving forward. Right now, they’re stable and looking good, but a dip could lead to CBS deciding FBI: Most Wanted isn’t the right choice for the network.
My gut is going with FBI: Most Wanted Season 2 happening.
