Do you buy the CultureFly Game of Thrones mystery boxes? Were you thinking about getting the next one? Sadly, the watch has ended.
Our watch has ended. And so has CultureFly’s. The Game of Thrones mystery boxes are no more and I’ll be the first to admit that I’m disappointed.
When we shared the review for the latest box, we had no idea that it was going to be the last. I would have made a bigger deal about it because of this. And in a way, I’m disappointed that CultureFly didn’t make a huge deal about the Game of Thrones spring 2019 box being the last. It seems a little anticlimactic — but maybe that’s fitting for the way many felt about the Game of Thrones final season.
I would love to see one final box — something to commemorate the fallen in the final six episodes or to mark the Battle of Winterfell and the Battle of King’s Landing. After all, the two couldn’t be included in the Battles of Westeros since CultureFly wouldn’t have been able to put things together that would have spoiled the fun. And there’s so much that could have been done with the two final big battles — or even the ending with the Starks on their various journeys.
Of course, the end was always going to happen. All good things have to come to an end and licensing deals with have finalized. So, it’s not all that surprising, but it is disappointing.
That being said, there are still plenty of CultureFly boxes to experience. I highly recommend the Supernatural box for the SPN fans out there. You can check out the review of the spring 2019 box, which sold out before it was mailed! The Nick Box is great for those who love all things Nickelodeon and there’s a cool Rick and Morty box.
Of course, if you’re a DC fan, you’ll want to check out the World’s Finest Collection. The Green Lantern Box has just arrived here, so I’ll be bringing that review very soon. Check out the review of The Flash Box from last quarter!
