God Friended Me Season 2: What to expect in the premiere
God Friended Me Season 2 will be here before we know it. Get ready for the premiere with everything we know about it so far.
The last we saw of God Friended Me, Cara had headed off to Paris with Simon Hayes, Rakesh was made head of Research & Development at IdentitySeal, and Miles had accepted his role in helping people despite not knowing who the person behind the account is. Now it’s time for God Friended Me Season 2, and the premiere will be here before we know it. To get ready, here’s a look at everything we know so far.
CBS has announced the premiere date as Sept. 29. The show keeps its spot in the first hour of primetime on the night. That can mean sometimes it starts at 8 p.m. ET and other times it can be later depending on the football. And of course, there will be Sundays when the show isn’t on because of awards shows, the Super Bowl, and more. As for the premiere, God Friended Me begins at 8:30 p.m. ET.

What’s the title?
Episode 1 is titled “Joy,” and that title is based on the name of the new friend of God. Joy came to Miles at the end of the Season 1 finale with news that he was her first friend suggestion. Why would God send his name? Was it to help him or was it to make sure she could get the help she needed to help others? After all, Cara was one of Miles’ suggestions in the pilot episode and quickly became a new permanent fixture in the search to find “God” and the friend suggestions.
In the premiere, it sounds like the writers are going with Miles being a little like Cara. Joy gets a new friend suggestion and Miles decides to help her. However, Joy doesn’t necessarily want to be involved.
What are Cara and Rakesh doing?
There were fears that Cara wouldn’t be in God Friended Me Season 2. Don’t worry about that! She will have a storyline in Paris, and it involves Adam Goldberg’s Simon Hayes. He wants to help Cara reconnect with someone in her past.
We’ve seen Cara reconnect with her mom. Who could she need to reconnect with now?
As for Rakesh, we’ll see him deal with being the head of Research & Development at IdentitySeal. Hopefully, there will also be more between him and Jaya. The two were still together by the end of the first season and Jaya had even arranged for the next stage of her education to be in New York. I want to see a show that doesn’t constantly put a good couple in dramatic situations. Let them be happy!
What about Arthur and Trish in God Friended Me Season 2?
Finally, let’s touch on Miles’ father and sister. In God Friended Me Season 1’s finale, Arthur learned that he wasn’t picked to be bishop of the diocese. Arthur didn’t know what to do after that, but eventually proposed to his girlfriend. Now it sounds like he’s struggling to move forward in this relationship. When it comes to selling the family home for a new place with his new fiancee, he’s not entirely convinced.
Not wanting to sell isn’t surprising. With a lot of memories, Arthur will struggle to move forward. Trish will help him through it though. Of that, I’m sure.
