The CW finally made some final decisions for its current slate. Is it good or bad news for Gotham Knights fans?
It took some time, but The CW finally made decisions about its remaining three shows on the block. Gotham Knights was one of them. The freshman series didn’t get the greatest of linear ratings, but it was cheap to produce. That led to fans hoping for a renewal.
After all, The CW made it clear that it wanted to be profitable. That means cutting costs on the shows it produces since the live ratings aren’t there. Would it help to land the only freshman series left a renewal?
Gotham Knights is canceled after one season
It’s bad news for fans of the series. The CW opted to cancel the series due to the low linear ratings. Instead, it’s Superman & Lois as the only DC series left. That’s not surprising considering it is the more successful of the two shows despite it costing more to produce. It’s also the better quality of the shows.
It’s been a hard run for freshman shows on The CW this year. All three had a Supernatural cast member involved in some way, too, so it’s a hard run for the SPN Family when you look at it that way.
Will another network pick it up? TVLine didn’t report that it was being shopped around. This would suggest there isn’t an attempt to bring the show back on another streamer.
