How many episodes are in Grey’s Anatomy Season 19?

After a few years of shortened seasons, will Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 be the full length? How many episodes will it have?

Grey’s Anatomy has been faced with shortened seasons throughout the pandemic. It hasn’t been alone. Almost every TV show faced shorter seasons since production shut down completely in March 2020. That year, all shows ended abruptly with whatever had been filmed. After that, production delays meant reduced episode orders.

Things are starting to get back to normal. Some shows last year did get back to the usual 22-episode format. Grey’s was close, but not quite there. Will that change this year?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 episode count

Deadline shared that there will be 22 episodes to the season. That is the current plan, but it is worth noting that plans can change. This could be in our favor or not. For example, last season, SWAT was given an 18-episode order but the schedule ran so smoothly that it ended up at 22 episodes.

For now, we’re focused on the full season. At least, close to what is normally a full season for this series based on recent years. This is one of those shows that has never had a consistent season order due to scheduling and other issues.

Ellen Pompeo is stepping back from being in the full season. She’ll be in eight episodes, although will narrate all episodes.
