When it comes to a series finale, we want to see fan-favorite characters of the past. Was Hetty in the NCIS: Los Angeles series finale?

There are a few expectations when it comes to series finales. One of those is to warp up all storylines, and another is to bring back characters of the past to say goodbye. We wanted to see Hetty in the NCIS: Los Angeles series finale for both of those reasons. After all, there were questions of whether Hetty survived the explosion until she sent that voice message in the three-series crossover event in January.

So, did Linda Hunt make it to film the series finale? It’s some bad news, I’m afraid. But it’s news that R. Scott Gemmill warned us about.

Hetty was not in the NCIS: Los Angeles series finale

We didn’t get to see Hetty in the finale. Linda Hunt wasn’t available to film, so it meant R. Scott Gemmill had to come up with another plan to deal with the situation. After all, Hetty was still out there somewhere in trouble and needed the team to help her.

Nell did show up in the finale. She made it clear that she’d put together a team to get Hetty out of dodge. This does open for a spin-off series about saving Hetty. We’d even settle for a TV movie at this point. It doesn’t look like it’s going to happen just yet, but never say never!
