Let’s start with the good news. Gentleman Jack Season 2 is most definitely happening. Both the BBC and HBO renewed the period drama series back in 2019. It has been a while since we’ve heard much through the big publications, but there have been updates via social media.

It’s all about following the right people in the right places. Suranne Jones is the one you want to follow for this series. After all, she is the lead star.

Back in April 2021, Jones shared that filming of the second season was taking a break. The show had done six months of filming up to that point. There were two months of filming left, but everyone deserves a break. Filming is hard work with extra long days.

When will Gentleman Jack Season 2 happen?

There isn’t a premiere date for the second season just yet. That’s not surprising with some filming still to happen. It’s been a hard year with the pandemic, and things aren’t over yet.

Will the show return before the end of 2021? It’s hard to say right now. This is going to depend on when the cast returns to filming and then the length of time post-production will take. In the Instagram post, Jones said the break would be for the summer. It’s looking like 2022 as a release date.

The second season will see Anne and Ann living at Sheridan together, navigating married life. In the public, they need to navigate it in secret considering the time period. There are plenty of outside influences that can put the pressure on their relationship, but can the two women constantly turn to each other?
