NCIS has taken over Monday nights. Will that continue in the 2023-2024 season? Has the series been renewed for Season 21?
After a couple of comedies, CBS has opted for a night of NCIS drama. It starts with the flagship series and then runs into the new spin-off set in Hawaii. We’re into the 20th season, with a new lead in the form of Gary Cole.
Of course, nobody thought the series would keep going without Mark Harmon’s Gibbs leading the team. While the series has seen a small downward tick in the ratings, it’s still a strong performer for Monday nights. Plus, we only get to see the live ratings and not all the views on Paramount+ the day after.
The question is whether CBS thinks that the series is performing well. Will we get to see Season 21 happen, or has it ended on a milestone season?
NCIS Season 21 is officially happening
It’s official! CBS has renewed the crime drama for another season. NCIS Season 21 is going to happen.
It was among seven shows renewed. Only three of them were scripted shows. Hawaii was also renewed, keeping Mondays mostly the same for now. CSI: Vegas was the other series renewed.
The schedule for fall 2023 hasn’t been confirmed just yet. We’re expecting the season to be part of the fall lineup, and it will likely keep the Monday night slot. It doesn’t make sense to move it now. The lower ratings are linked to Monday night football, but it’s clear that the fanbase is still there and has mostly moved with it.
