Will Amazon renew Panic for Season 2?
While a lot of eyes were on Lucifer Season 5B on Netflix, Amazon brought out a new series, Panic. Will Panic Season 2 happen?
It wasn’t going to be easy to go up against Lucifer on Netflix. However, Panic is a series worth checking out. Based on the book of the same name by Lauren Oliver, the series follows a group of high school students playing the titular game. Nobody knows how the game started, but it’s a tradition for all graduating seniors.
There is a cash prize to win, and while the game isn’t designed to kill anyone, accidents have happened in the past. And it turns out that some accidents weren’t quite accidents after all. These accidents have led to the cops doing everything they can to shut the games down.
While all that goes on, there’s another mystery. Who is involved in illegal gambling? All the questions were answered by the end of the first season, and we even found out who won the game. We won’t share spoilers here for those who haven’t caught up just yet, but get ready for some twists and turn.
Is Panic Season 2 happening?
Amazon hasn’t yet canceled or renewed the series. That’s not too surprising considering the show only debuted on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, May 28. While some shows have been renewed ahead of their releases, it’s not common for Amazon to do this with YA shows.
This is one of those shows that can work as a limited series if needed. The questions were all answered by the end, and we can believe the students just move on with their lives. After all, it wasn’t like the game was overly traumatic considering they all knew some of what to expect.
That being said, it was a fun ride. We wouldn’t say no to more from the series.
Amazon can take a month or so to confirm the renewal of a series. It’s something we’ll keep a close eye on. It’s all going to depend on how many people binge-watched over the weekend.
