Is SEAL Team Season 5 happening?
If there is one TV show we need renewed right now, it’s SEAL Team. What is going on with SEAL Team Season 5 at CBS?
Sadly, the news right now is that SEAL Team Season 5 isn’t happening. The show hasn’t been canceled, but it remains on the bubble.
If you’re anything like me, you’re not happy about that. This is one of the best shows on TV right now. Not only does it have great storytelling, but it also offers authenticity that other shows wouldn’t dare to offer. After all, characters have been written out because it’s just the way things would happen in real life, whether it’s through accidents or promotions.
Yet, it’s a show that has always been one of those bubble shows. It remains on the bubble right now. What are the chances of it being renewed, and why is CBS taking so long to give us some good news?
Will SEAL Team Season 5 happen?
SEAL Team is one of those bubble shows. The live ratings aren’t usually strong enough to grant it an early renewal. It’s an outdated system for renewing and canceling shows. We all know that, but the networks still have to think about advertisers.
What are the live ratings like? According to TV Series Finale, the show is 16th out of 24 scripted shows on the network in the demo. When it comes to the total audience, it sits in 18th. This is a concern for the network. CBS will want to see the pilots in the works to see if there’s a chance they can perform better than SEAL Team in the live ratings.
The best thing we can do is make a lot of noise and watch live. Make it clear that we need a fifth season.
The good news is the actors are happy to do the fifth season. David Boreanaz has made it clear that he’s interested in continuing in the role of Jason Hayes. Now it’s just up to CBS.
We’ll be sure to bring an update with whatever CBS chooses to do.
