We’re taking a look at the fates of some of our favorite shows. Station 19 is one of those shows. Will Station 19 Season 5 happen?

There’s no doubt that this is a show that deserves to be renewed, especially after the most recent episode. Station 19 Season 4, Episode 12 delivered a powerful and emotional episode showing each of the firefighters grieving and dealing with their emotions in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. This wasn’t an episode about anger and grief. It was one about confusion, about realization, and about white privilege (that yes, does exist!).

So far, ABC hasn’t canceled or renewed the series. To be honest, it hasn’t renewed any of its scripted shows just yet.

Things are a little different this year. While in previous years there have been some earlier renewals, there hasn’t been the questions of filming costs and delays due to the pandemic. Those questions will likely be answered soon, meaning renewals and cancellations announcements should happen soon.

Will Station 19 Season 5 happen at ABC?

While ABC hasn’t made a decision yet, we can look at the chances of the show being renewed. We’re pretty positive about Station 19 Season 5.

The Grey’s Anatomy spin-off is the second best show in the live ratings when looking at the demo, according to TV Series Finale. Things are even better when you look at the total audience. It’s the number one show on the network. This is despite the overall ratings taking a dip from the previous season.

To be honest, the dip in the ratings isn’t that surprising. Like so many other shows, Station 19 has been hit by filming delays, which has meant delays in episodes getting to us. What we don’t get to see is just how many people are tuning in via Hulu through the delayed viewing. But the fact that the series is at the top of ABC’s scripted shows, there’s no reason to think it won’t be renewed.
