The Rookie: Feds Season 1 has come to an end. Now there is one question we have. Will Season 2 happen at ABC?

There are absolutely no spoilers for The Rookie: Feds Season 1 finale in this post. This isn’t about what happened, but about whether we’ll get to see what comes next. All we want to see if whether a renewal is going to happen.

ABC has not yet made a decision on the Neicy Nash-Betts series. That’s despite renewals for The Rookie and Will Trent coming in. What are the chances of the federal agent drama being canceled or renewed?

Will ABC canceled The Rookie: Feds?

It is concerning that there hasn’t been a renewal just yet. ABC has opted for individual renewals this year, and not all franchises have been renewed at the same time. It took weeks between Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 being renewed, and we’re still waiting to hear about whether The Good Doctor spin-off, The Good Lawyer, will be picked up to series.

There are a few factors that go into the decisions to cancel and renew shows. The linear ratings remain a huge factor, so we need to look at them to determine if Feds will be picked up alongside its parent series.

The average demo for the series is just above Will Trent‘s average demo. With that in mind, you would think a renewal would happen. It’s the average audience that is a concern. This number is lower, with the network struggling to hold onto viewers after The Rookie. The average total audience is just behind the canceled Goldbergs.

Cancellations are part of the TV cycle. ABC will need to look at pilots that have been put forward to see if the linear ratings for a new pilot could work out stronger than the Neicy Nash-Betts series.
