Will Trent is one of the newest shows on the block. What are the chances of it getting a second season on ABC?

There were a few new crime dramas in the 2022–2023 season. Will Trent is one of them. The series is based on the book series by Karin Slaughter, which follows the titular character as a member of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.

We’re at the time of year when we get final decisions about the future of shows. What will ABC decide about this series? Is it going to be canceled or renewed?

Is Will Trent Season 2 happening at ABC?

ABC is yet to make a decision about this show. That’s not surprising as it’s still to make decisions about a lot of shows. All we can do is look at the live ratings to get an idea of whether it will be a good or bad decision for the show.

Looking at the live ratings, I’m on the fence about this one. It is performing relatively well on Tuesdays, matching the demo of its lead-in The Rookie: Feds and bringing in a slightly higher live audience. Is this going to be enough, though?

Overall, the show sits in 10th out of the 15 scripted shows on the network when it comes to the demo. It’s much stronger in the audience, sitting gin sixth. This could help to renew the show.

Apart from A Million Little Things, which we knew was ending with the fifth season, ABC has only made decisions for Grey’s Anatomy, Abbott Elementary, and The Goldbergs. We’ll likely need to wait until just before the May Upfronts to see if this show will be renewed or not.
