Jamie and Claire feared the worst as he went off to battle in Outlander Season 7, Episode 7. Did the worst happen?
Outlander Season 7, Episode 7 brought us the First Battle of Saratoga. It was clear that this was a big moment. Claire had noted that it was a turning point for the Americans, and it was clear that Jamie feared that he wouldn’t make it back.
At the end of the battle, we got to see the battlefield. It was littered with dead bodies, and I looked like Jamie was among them. He was left face-down in the mud.
The promo shows us him being turned over and then Claire’s shocked face. It looks like she fears that the worst has happened. Is it possible that Jamie has died?
Jamie isn’t dead in Outlander
I’m going to say that Jamie isn’t dead. The promo is set up well to make us think that he is, but there is a moment where we hear his voice. This isn’t something he’s said before, so it suggests that he will say it during the new episode.
The synopsis also tells us that Jamie will fight in the Second Battle of Saratoga. That means that he has to survive this first one. He could be injured and need some surgery, but it will be nothing serious enough to keep him out of the battle.
This is likely where we’ll see Jamie’s worst fears happen. He didn’t want to face his son on the other end of a battlefield. We haven’t seen that happen just yet, but it’s sure to happen soon. William has just been through the first battle and experienced loss and everything that comes with the first battle. He’s sure to be there to try to take down the rebels that he believes the Americans to be.
