Our Thursdays have been taken over by three awesome Law & Order shows. Will that continue in the 2022–2023 season? Is Law & Order: Organized Crime canceled or renewed for Season 3?
As the networks build their franchises, they’re making whole nights out of them. NBC opted for Law & Order Thursdays. That was supposed to start in fall 2021, but For the Defense was abruptly canceled. It led to a shift until the Law & Order revival was ready in 2022.
Will these Law & Order Thursdays continue? Would NBC decide to keep the Christopher Meloni-led series, Organized Crime going to wrap up the night?
Is Law & Order: Organized Crime canceled?
There was some good news on May 10. TVLine reported that NBC had decided to renew Law & Order: Organized Crime for a third season. This came with the renewal of Law & Order and we already knew SVU had been renewed for a 24th season.
We don’t have a start date for the season yet. Right now, we think it’s going to stick to the fall, with it airing on Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT. It makes sense to keep these Thursdays going as other networks look at creating franchise nights.
We’ll get confirmation of the fall schedule sometime this month. Then in June or July, the network is likely to announce the premiere dates. Should the series stick to the fall, we’re looking at a late September premiere date.
