NBC has made some decisions for the 2023–2024 season. Will Law & Order: SVU be renewed for a milestone 25th season?

If there is one show that continually manages to find ways to bring new storylines, it’s Law & Order: SVU. Maybe it’s that everything is “ripped from the headlines” and there’s no shortage of storylines from there. More often, truth is stranger than fiction!

The question has been whether NBC agrees whether Law & Order: SVU should be renewed or not. Are the live ratings strong enough? Is everyone on board to keep going? NBC has made a decision, and here’s everything that we know right now.

Law & Order: SVU Season 25 is officially happening

There is some great news for fans of Olivia Benson. The character will return to help get justice for those who have faced some of the most traumatic crimes against them. NBC has decided to renew the show for a milestone 25th season.

The renewal came with confirmation that the show would have 22 episodes. This is standard for a fall series, so we’re expecting to see the show remain in the fall on Thursday nights. There’s just no reason for the network to change things here. We’ll find out in May at the NBC Upfronts about the fall schedule. The new season will mean the show airs its 550th episode!
