We know Law & Order: SVU Season 25 is happening at NBC. Just how many episodes will be in this upcoming season?

The great news lately is that Law & Order: SVU has been renewed for another year. The show is hitting a milestone season, which will see the 550th episode air. Of course, we want to know how long we’ll get with the SVU team.

When Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 was confirmed, it came with the news that it would only get 13 episodes. The other Law & Order shows were set to get a full season, but things are changing as broadcast networks look to save money.

Law & Order: SVU Season 25 episode count

There is a little bit of bad news. It doesn’t look like we’ll get a full 22-episode season of any Dick Wolf show on NBC. Deadline reports that Law & Order: SVU Season 25 is set to get between 18 and 20 episodes. This is a way to save money.

On top of that, we won’t see all characters in all episodes. This means the actors’ pay isn’t going down on a per-episode basis, but they will see a pay cut as they’re in fewer episodes of the show.

The only one out of all six Dick Wolf shows on NBC that is set to be in every single episode is Mariska Hargitay, which isn’t surprising considering Olivia Benson is the department. Organized Crime won’t see the actors less as the show already has fewer episodes.
