Lord John Grey returns in Outlander Season 6, Episode 5

When we got some promotional material for Outlander Season 6, we knew Lord John Grey would be back. He’s in tonight’s all-new episode.

We are now over the halfway mark of the season. We’ve met the Christies, allowed Fergus to face his demons, and seen Young Ian tell his story. Now it’s time to focus on the growing tensions in the colonies. It’s not all that surprising then that Lord John Grey is back.

There are a few things to note for book readers. Yes, there is a deviation to the books here, but I don’t think it’s going to be one a lot of people are too concerned about. Gerald Forbes is supposed to be in this scene, but he is now dead on the series. So, it means Lord John Grey gets to step in and fight side-by-side with Jamie once more.

Lord John Grey returns in Outlander

We will see Lord John in much of the episode based on some of the images released. He’ll be at River Run for some of the episode, and the River Run scenes will come from the book with changes to add John into the story.

Flora MacDonald is being honored at a barbecue. She was the one who got Bonnie Prince Charlie to safety after the failing Rising, and there are still a lot of people who have the utmost respect for her. What will be her views of the growing tensions?

John isn’t the only one returning. Being at River Run means we get to see Jocasta, too.

After that, Jamie and Claire head to Wilmington, which is where they face the tensions. We adore that photo of John with the broom. That will make an excellent meme soon.

Take a look at the promo for the episode below to see everything that we can expect. Roger is landing himself in some bother again!
