Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on Prime Video in September. Amazon has released the full episode schedule with release times.
There is no doubt we’re all excited for Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. We head back to Middle Earth, in a series that has the budget and time to explore the different creatures and magical elements to the story. It even already has a second season confirmed, so there’s no need to worry about how it all wraps at the end of the first season.
It’s not common for Amazon to release full details about episode schedules for weekly release shows. With Lord of the Rings being such a major show, Amazon has opted to do something different. Not only do we have the release dates for all episodes, but we also have the release times.
Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres on Sept. 1
The official release date for Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was given as Friday, Sept. 2. That’s changing slightly for those of us in North America. We’re going to get the episode on the Thursday night instead.
If you follow a lot of Amazon shows, you’ll know a Thursday release sn’t actually uncommon. This is just the first time Prime Video is making it clear the release times are working in our favor. The times are guaranteed this time.
The first two episodes will drop on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 9 p.m. ET. That means those on the west coast will get it at 6 p.m. PT. If you’re in the UK, you’ll get the episode at 2 a.m., while those in Australia and New Zealand will need to wait until 11 a.m./2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2. TVLine got the details.
After that, episodes are set to move to the Fridays. Instead of giving us an early release, we’re not expecting the episodes until 12 a.m. ET on Friday nights. That will mean 9 p.m. PT on Thursdays. Each of the episodes will release one per week until the finale airs on Friday, Oct. 14.
