Will Manifest be renewed for a third season?

Manifest has ended its second season with some major questions. Is a renewal possible? Will NBC cancel or renew Manifest Season 3?

Manifest is one TV show that got to air its planned season finale. And what a season finale it was! With so many questions, we know Manifest Season 3 is necessary for the storytelling. The question is whether NBC agrees.

This is a show that is certainly on the bubble, but doesn’t necessarily deserve to be there. While initially, its live ratings were on the low side, they picked up throughout the season. That’s what we’re looking at as we predict the fate of the mystery TV series.

Good ranking for a mystery series

Mystery shows can be hit and miss. There’s often a big question and viewers tend to worry that a show will be canceled before that big question can be answered. Or they worry a show is going to be dragged out before answering the big question knowing that it’s the end of the show. Manifest hasn’t done that.

Okay, we have a big question of how time travel is possible, but each season so far has delivered different questions. The second season certainly benefitted from the main focus being saving Zeke from the Death Date. Maybe that’s why this is a show that has performed well in average live ratings.

When looking at TV Series Finale, the show sits seventh in the demo and total audience out of all 20 scripted shows. This is great!

Surrounded by renewals

There’s a good chance Manifest Season 3 will happen. The series has been surrounded by renewals when it comes to the live rankings. Ahead of it, the One Chicago shows and New Amsterdam have landed three-season renewals. Underneath, Brooklyn Nine-NineLaw & Order: SVU, and The Blacklist have gained renewals. It’s all a good sign for the future of the mystery series.

The concern for NBC will be the ranking on Monday nights. Did the show perform well against the likes of The Good Doctor and Bull? Something to remember is both of those shows are fall TV shows. Manifest didn’t premiere until the spring so there will be an allowance there. However, it did perform well, especially towards the end of the season. It is a strong contender and makes sense to keep this show going than put the risk on a pilot that hasn’t been able to film yet.

Out of all NBC shows that remain on the bubble, this is the one I’m most confident about a renewal.

Manifest Season 2 is available to stream on Hulu in full.
