Will Meredith take the job in Minnesota in Grey’s Anatomy?
Will Meredith Grey leave Seattle behind permanently? Could she take the job in Minnesota in Grey’s Anatomy?
Meredith Grey has a choice on her hands. Dr. Hamilton wants her to join his team full-time due to her success with the Parkinson’s cure. It’s a chance for her to do something new and much bigger with her skills.
During the previous episode of Grey’s Anatomy ($), Meredith had told Nick that she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with her life now. She loves her home, but she doesn’t really want to go back to being the Chief of General Surgery. It sounds like she’d love a promotion to Chief of Surgery at the hospital, but it’s not like Bailey is stepping down anytime soon.
Could Meredith choose to move on Grey’s Anatomy?
Usually, I would say that this type of storyline is purely added for drama. It gives characters a chance to think about what really means the most to them, and more often than not, they end up choosing that they are happy where they originally were.
However, Grey’s Anatomy has shown that it is possible to see characters in different locations. Look at when Cristina Yang took the job in Minnesota years ago. We saw her spend some time there, following her career and then seeing her FaceTime with Meredith and others now and then. We’re seeing Meredith split her time between two locations at the moment.
There is a chance the series could work with Meredith moving to another hospital. However, we could also see her decide that Seattle really is where the heart is, but she needs to do more than just her work at the hospital. This could see her take on some sort of new clinical trial or do something different within the hospital.
