The NCIS: New Orleans Season 6 fall finale promised a showdown between the team and Eddie Barrett. Would the team get justice for Lasalle?

What a fall finale for NCIS: New Orleans Season 6! At some points, it was hard to call which decisions would be made and what would happen. The biggest question on our minds throughout the episode, though, was whether the team would get justice for Lasalle.

At the end of the previous episode, which aired three weeks ago, Barrett (played by CSI: New York‘s Eddie Cahill) had found a way to gain an alibi on the night of Lasalle’s murder. The team decided to pull back. If they lost the case, that was it. There would be no way the team would be able to take Barrett down at all. Double jeopardy and all that! So, it was better to catch him out in another way, and that led to finding out he’s a cult leader.

The NCIS: New Orleans Season 6 fall finale quickly picked up where the last episode left us, with the standoff at Barrett’s plantation. Of course, Barrett just wanted Pride. It’s always been about Pride, the one who felt Lasalle’s death the hardest. Plus, the head of NCIS.

Pride was willing to play Barrett’s game, but he left the team at work with the FBI to figure out a way to save as many people as possible. Fortunately, there was a way around it. Pride got to one of the young children in the cult, turning him enough to pass on a message to the team about explosives. Sure enough, there were some explosives in the tunnels beneath the plantation, which Barrett was willing to set off when the FBI breached the plantation.

In the end, it was a standoff between Barrett and Pride. With Barrett making it clear that he would never stop his actions or leading the cult, Pride felt he had no choice but to shoot. He claims Barrett was reaching for his gun, but we know that Pride did it out of revenge.

In Pride’s mind, and in the rest of the team in a way, Pride gained justice for Lasalle. Whether you believe what he did was right or not is up to you.
