We would have loved to see more old faces in the NCIS: Los Angeles series finale, but we at least got one. Was Nell that one?
We actually got another familiar face, but not as big of a character as Nell. Renée Felice Smith left in the NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12 finale after a couple of seasons of wondering whether we were going to lose her. Despite being gone, she wasn’t gone from our hearts. And it’s clear the team wasn’t gone from hers.
Yes, Nell did return in the series finale. And it was to help offer a little bit of closure about a character the series couldn’t get back.
Nell is running a mission in the NCIS: Los Angeles series finale
Callen and Sam ran into Nell in Morrocco. She shared that she was running a team to get Hetty out of trouble.
Linda Hunt couldn’t be part of the finale due to scheduling reasons. It did mean that there were a lot of questions about Hetty, who it looked like had died in an explosion during Season 13. We got confirmation in the three-series crossover event in January that Hetty was still alive, and she managed to get a letter to Callen, so she was part of the episode in some way.
Well, Nell isn’t going to let Hetty just be forgotten about. This could open up a door to a TV movie, but it could also just give us what we need to know that Hetty would be saved.
