Never Have I Ever Season 2: Release date, trailer, synopsis, cast, and more
Fans of Never Have I Ever can cheer. Netflix has renewed the series for a second season. Here are all the details we know so far.
It’s time to rejoice! Never Have I Ever has been picked up for a second season.
It may be more of a Part 2 to the first season. Deadline says that Netflix has picked up the Mindy Kaling series for a second 10-part episode. However, that could just be an awkward way of saying a 10-episode season.
Either way, more episodes are on their way. So what do we know so far?
Never Have I Ever Season 2 release date
We don’t yet have a release date for the series. There are some things to keep in mind, including filming not happening in the U.S. just yet.
The first season was released in April 2020. It takes at least 14 months for the most part for Netflix shows to air new seasons. It’s usually at least 12 months from the date of renewal.
The earliest we’re looking at Never Have I Ever Season 2 is June 2021, but it could be more like July to September 2021. And that’s if filming can take place as soon as writing is done.
Never Have I Ever Season 2 trailer and synopsis
So far, very little has been shared about the new season. With only just getting the renewal, we’re not looking at any teases of what’s to come. The team of writers may not even know yet.
We did get a short announcement video, though, with everyone connecting on a Zoom call to reveal the news.

Never Have I Ever Season 1 starred Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi Vishwakumar. She played a first-generation Indian American teenager, who had to handle issues of sexuality and family while being a high school student. The character decides that she wants to change her social status after a bad year, which is the journey we get in the first season.
The second season will pick up from the ending. There are storylines involving love interests, figuring out herself, and managing two different cultures together.
Casting for the new season
While we don’t know anything about the trailer and synopsis, we do have an idea of who will return. Ramakrishnan is definitely returning as the star of the show. This is her breakout performance and she has done exceptionally well, so we can’t wait to see more.
Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Darren Barnet, Ramona Young, Jaren Lewison, and Lee Rodriguez are also set to return to their roles.
The renewal is one of the best decisions Netflix could make at this time. There were fears that it would be canceled with how long it had taken the renewal to come through, but this is a much-needed show at this time. It breaks down South Asian stereotypes, and the show has been praised for its inclusivity. Canceling would have been a tone-deaf move.
