NBC brought a couple of revivals in the 2022–2023 season. Night Court was one of them. Is the revival a success?

Sometimes, reboots and revivals aren’t necessary. Then there are some that are great fun. NBC has brought two great revivals this year: Quantum Leap and Night Court.

The latter is based on the comedy series that ran from 1984 to 1992. It is a revival, as Melissa Rauch plays Abby Stone, the daughter of Harry Stone from the OG series*. This is certainly something that drew some fans in as it meant a connection to theshow they fell in love with.

As we get closer to finale season, we’re looking at which shows have been canceled and renewed. What’s the decision for this revival?

Is Night Court Season 2 happening at NBC?

There is some excellent news for fans of the new series. After debuting on Tuesday, Jan. 17, NBC quickly saw that this was a hit. The series was renewed back in February 2023.

This wasn’t the only revival success. It didn’t take long for NBC to renew Quantum Leap for Season 2 either.

There is no confirmation as to when the show will return or the timeslot that it will take. It premiered midseason this year, but it could move to the fall for the 2023–2024 season. This is especially the case with the upcoming potential writer’s strike. With the early renewal, work on the second season has started which means there will be episodes to film in the summer where other shows may struggle.
