How many episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers are coming this week?
Nine Perfect Strangers arrives on Hulu this week. Will it be a full binge-watch or a weekly release? Here’s all you need to know.
Based on the novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, Nine Perfect Strangers follows a group of (nine, in case the title didn’t give it away) strangers gathering at a wellness retreat. Their aim is to improve their lives, their minds, and their souls, but probably not the way this retreat does things.
Nicole Kidman stars as Marsha, the mysterious Russian woman who runs the retreat. She has some unorthodox methods of managing things, while also hiding a few secrets of her own.
When it comes to watching the series, you’ll likely want a binge-watch. Isn’t that the way of streaming platforms? Well, more and more streaming platforms are opting for the weekly release. What’s going on with this series?
Nine Perfect Strangers gets a hybrid release
Hulu tends to opt for a hybrid release model for some of its biggest shows. This is the case for Nine Perfect Strangers.
The first three episodes are coming this week, on Wednesday, Aug. 18. After that, we’ll get one episode per week.
If you’re in Canada, there’s a bit of an extra wait for the series. It’s coming to Amazon Prime Video Canada but on Fridays instead of Wednesdays. The first episodes will drop on Friday, Aug. 20. After that, it releases one episode per week.
The series is definitely worth watching this way. The weekly release format is still the best for keeping shows on the air. It keeps people talking about it for longer, especially when there is a wait between seasons. The season finale airs on Wednesday, Sept. 22/Friday, Sept. 24. If you prefer a binge-watch, that’s how long you’re waiting.
