There’s a cast change coming in Only Murders in the Building Season 3, which rules out a suspect. Who isn’t coming back?

Sadly, not every character returns to a show between seasons. There are all sorts of reasons for this, including other filming commitments and creative differences. The filming commitments are often a problem for the guest stars as the series regulars are signed into a contract that prevents them from allowing other commitments to cause a problem for filming.

We know that the three mains will return to Only Murders in the Building Season 3. We also know that we’ll see Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep in some of the episodes. What about characters from previous seasons, though? There is one confirmed exit, ruling out a suspect.

Nathan Lane will not return in Only Murders in the Building Season 3

It turns out that we won’t see Teddy Dimas in the third season of the series, according to TVLine. Nathan Lane is not returning, but it’s not due to anything bad behind the scenes. This really was a case of filming and performance schedules clashing.

Teddy isn’t one of the main characters of the series. We also didn’t see him playing the biggest part in the new season, anyway. After all, he ended up getting some major moments in the first two seasons as he became a main suspect in one murder and we found out that Teddy is Will’s biological father in the second season.

Lane was in Broadway’s production on Pictured from Home at the time of Only Murders in the Building Season 3 filming. We can let him off for not being around.
