Outlander Season 7 premieres in June, but it won’t be all 16 episodes. The show is going to be split in two parts.

When STARZ announced that Outlander Season 7 would end up with 16 episodes (due to Season 6 being cut down to eight), I did suspect that we’d end up with a split season. This is what happened with the first season, and it’s not common for STARZ to air more than 10 episodes of a show in one go. We usually see a break somewhere, even if it’s just for a week.

Plus, filming only wrapped in February. It takes at least six months to get through post-production. While it could mean a full run of 16 episodes, that is pushing things a little.

So, it shouldn’t be too surprising to many to hear that there is going to be a break in the new season.

When will Outlander Season 7, Part 2 air?

STARZ has confirmed that we’ll have eight episodes in the summer, with June 16 as the premiere date. The second half of the season will return in 2024.

With a June premiere date, it means the eighth episode is likely to air around the middle of August. If the network opts for something similar to the first season, we could see a six-month break. That could mean a February 2024 premiere date for the second half of the season.

We’re likely to see Season 8 premiere in 2025 with all this in mind.
