How to watch Penny Dreadful: City of Angels live
The Penny Dreadful sequel premieres tonight. Make sure you don’t miss a beat. Here’s everything you need to watch Penny Dreadful: City of Angels live.
If you miss Penny Dreadful, you are certainly not alone. While it’s not quite the same, the sequel is on its way tonight. This is certainly something to fill that void. So how do you watch Penny Dreadful: City of Angels live online?
There are a few options available to you. In the United States, the series will air on SHOWTIME. You can watch it through the app or you can tune in live on the channel from 10 p.m ET/PT.
Remember that SHOWTIME is part of the Amazon Channels line-up. If you haven’t signed up before, you can get a seven-day free trial right now.
If you’re in Canada, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels will air on Crave. New episodes drop on Sundays, so look out for the premiere right now.
Can you watch on Netflix or Hulu afterward?
It’s highly unlikely that Penny Dreadful: City of Angels will head to another streaming service. That’s especially the case now that more streaming services are out, so there’s more competition. Premium cable networks need to keep their place in the world, and there’s just no need for SHOWTIME to put the series anywhere else.
Of course, never say never. We’ve seen STARZ put Outlander on Netflix and the first season of Vida is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. So, you never know. It’s just unlikely.
If you want to watch the show online without SHOWTIME, it’s going to be through illegal methods. We don’t encourage those as they don’t put the money back into the productions. That means less money for the studios to make more great content.
What is the Penny Dreadful sequel about?
While the original series was set in Victorian London, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels takes us to 1938 Los Angeles. Social and political tensions are high, and that’s made all the worse when there’s a grisly murder in the city. Detective Tiago Vega and Lewis Michener will need to figure out who the murderer is.
Of course, this is a spiritual descendant of Penny Dreadful. Yes, there are some otherworldly twists. The show focuses on Mexican-American folklore in a world where the Third Reich is growing. Nathan Lane, Daniel Zovatto, Natalie Dormer, and Kerry Bishé are among the standout cast.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels airs Sundays at 10/9c on SHOWTIME.
