Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has brought us another A and another mystery. It looks like it’s one season and over for the series.
While Pretty Little Liars lasted for seven seasons, the spin-off attempts haven’t been as successful. The Perfectionists was cancelled after just one season, and it looks like Original Sin is going to follow the same fate.
While nothing has yet been confirmed, things aren’t looking good for the series. HBO Max released a promo trailer for the final three episodes of the season. This was unusual in itself, but something that is a concern is the decision to include “Series Finale” in the trailer.
A series finale in the U.S. is the final episode of the entire series. This suggests that the series is going to be cancelled.
Will we get answers in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin?
It’s not clear what the viewership has been like on Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin*. With streaming shows, it’s always difficult to tell if a series will be renewed or not. The streamers don’t always tell us what the uptake has been.
However, the promo is certainly a telling sign that there isn’t going to be a second season. With so many scripted shows on the brink of cancellation due to the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, this isn’t too surprising.
Now we just need to hope that all our questions are answered in the final three episodes. If the show was written well, we’ll at least find out who A is. However, we know the original series brought a ton of red herrings, and the new series could do the same.
