Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has a premiere date. Will it include any of the cast from the OG series? Here’s what we know so far.

When it comes to spin-offs, we expect to see characters from the OG shows. If not, there is usually some sort of connection. Just look at 911 Lone Star*, which has since brought in characters from the OG series but started with just a mention of Chimney’s accident in the OG series to make it clear the two shows are in the same universe.

Other shows have included the same characters. Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s spin-off Angel included Angel and Cordelia, while The Originals included all the Mikaelsons from The Vampire Diaries. Even the first Pretty Little Liars spin-off included a couple of characters from the OG series

What about this newest spin-off? Will Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin include any of the OG cast*?

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is a standalone spin-off

As of right now, there are no plans to include the OG cast. The series is a standalone spin-off, with TVLine pointing out that the town it’s set in, Millwood, is “miles away” from Rosewood. Of course “miles away2 is subjective. It could mean that the towns are close to each other, but it could also mean that they’re on the other side of the country.

However, one thing that is clear is that the shows are in the same universe. This does keep the door open to OG characters appearing if there is a story for them and the actors are available.

The series is focused on a new mystery. It picks up with a group of teenage girls getting threats from a new “A.” This new A is going to expose the secrets of the teens’ parents from 20 years ago.
