As much as I love the summer to spend time with the kids, there’s something great about fall TV starting back up again. There’s a routine, our favorite shows are back, and we get to check out the newest offerings. One of those new offerings is on FOX tonight. Prodigal Son premieres live on FOX after the intense Season 3 premiere of 9-1-1.
What is Prodigal Son?
If you haven’t heard of Prodigal Son yet, you’ll want to check out the promo below. Michael Sheen and Tom Payne star as father and son, but not a father and son you’ll be used to seeing on screen. Sheen’s character is a serial killer, known as “The Surgeon.” Because of his father, Payne’s character, Malcolm, has learned how to read criminals. He knows what criminals are thinking and how they’ll act.
When a copycat “Surgeon” is out, Malcolm is called in on the case. However, it’s going to raise secrets from the past, and he may need to turn to his father for help.
On top of all that, Malcolm needs to deal with the other members of his family. His mother is extremely manipulative, yet his sister seems to have avoided any of the negative traits of the family. And yet, his father wants to bond with him!
