Harry the Alien may not be the only alien on Earth right now on Resident Alien. Who are the “researchers” and what do they want?
At the end of the second episode, we saw two hikers find the man who had fallen down the slope at the start of the episode. He was long dead, along with two eagles also caught in the same hover trap of Harry’s ship.
During the third episode, we saw the two hikers at a bar talking to a man who had an encounter with Harry. These two hikers are researching other alien encounters. What did they do when they learned he was writing a book? Well, they didn’t take time to get to know him better.
Instead, one of them killed him. The other was shocked, saying they didn’t have orders to kill. It turns out the two “researchers” have different orders, but orders from whom?
Are these “researchers” other aliens on Resident Alien?
Throughout the first two episodes, we were led to believe that Harry had a solo mission. Maybe he did, but it turns out he may not be the only alien on the planet.
These two researchers may be aliens. And they may be the same alien race as Harry.
What are they on Earth for? Probably to catch Harry. After all, they’re going around places Harry—or people who have seen Harry—have been. It all started with them coming across the hiker caught in the hover trap, and they don’t seem all that surprised something like that has happened.
They’ve turned up months after the guy got trapped though. He’d completely frozen over with two dead eagles next to him. This suggests that it’s been a while since Harry was on Earth, and they may be coming from him.
Surely Harry’s race would send out a search party for him when he didn’t return, right? They’d want to know why Harry didn’t come back home after completing his mission. These two aliens could be that search party, although it doesn’t sound like one of them will give Harry the benefit of the doubt.
What’s going to happen to Harry when they catch up to him? He’ll want to watch his back and hope the local townspeople will be on his side.
