SEAL Team: Can it go on without David Boreanaz?
There is speculation David Boreanaz, a.k.a Jason Hayes, in SEAL Team is destined to exit this season. Can the show survive without him though?
The SEAL Team writers are really doing a number on Jason. Over the course of the last few episodes we’ve seen him go down a path that could start the beginning of something that he cannot come back from.
Irritable, angry, unpredictable, and irrational. Something big is clearly coming for the character.
Some fans, and I will take this moment to point out this is nothing but speculation right now, believe it is the beginning of the end for David Boreanaz’s character Jason. The idea being that he will eventually make a decision that leads to a costly error; an error that will either see him be killed off or ejected from the Navy.

Thing is, can the show keep on going without the character?
Well, being brutally honest, it’s a yes and no from us.
SEAL Team has done an amazing job flushing out the other characters. So much so that we already have a deep connection with all of them right now. So, if Jason Hayes was to be killed off or asked to leave Bravo Team, and ultimately, SEAL Team, there is still enough storylines from Sunny, Ray, Clay, and Lisa to focus on.
So, from that point of view, yes, it can go on without him.

However, while the SEAL Team writers have done a great job establishing the other characters, those characters all center around Jason in one way or another. He is effectively the glue that keeps them all together. So, him leaving would make it difficult for them to stick together and keep their individual storylines going.
So, from that point of view, no, it can’t go on without him.
The best solution would be to have whatever the writers have planned for Jason to end in such a way that Jason does not exit the show. That would be the safest solution and one I am sure you would all like to see play out; rather than have him leaving. I know that’s what we want.
What do you think? If David Boreanaz was to exit the series, could it carry on without him? Drop comment just below sharing your thoughts.
NO not for me . No David no watch. His leadership is the center of the story. They had better write it so he turns around or they will kill the show. But then again maybe that is what CBS wants to to.
You know they have already just about killed off Mandy, which is astounding to me, considering what she has done for this team. Jason’s operator days are numbered anyway, because of his age I would like to think that with the physiologist on board we are going to see a new day of extending and managing the lives of these warriors. I would hate to think that he would be killed off. The show could probably survive but without Jason and Mandy I will not.
The show is absolutely boring without Jason
I dont think it would make it with out David Boreanaz . He is the show. If he leaves I probably wont watch it anymore.
To be honest, I have been disappointed with Jason’s role this season. I am a bit tired of the moodiness, brooding & anger without a storyline dealing with his problems. If leaving is best for Jason, I do think it is possible for some of the other characters to step up. I am curious if it is Jason or DAVID that needs to leave. I have been a big fan of David Boreanaz way back to Buffy, Angel & Bones days. I thnk he went through a phase of wanting to leave Bones more than once. Could he be dealing with personal reasons for leaving? Whatever happens I will still watch Seal Team if the writing improves.
I do agree with you about Jason’s role this season. He’s been known for his broodiness but this season has been a little too much.
