Shadow and Bone‘s second season is now available, but will there be more? Will Shadow and Bone Season 3 happen at Netflix?
We’ve all had the chance now to binge-watch Shadow and Bone* Season 2. Don’t worry if you haven’t watched it all yet. We’re not going to reveal any major spoilers in this post.
All that we will say is that there is room to continue the story. There is a cliffhanger at the end, something that will once again combine the Crows’ storyline with the Grisha’s one. This means we need a third season to happen. What are the chances of that?
Is Shadow and Bone Season 3 happening?
Netflix has not yet confirmed if there will be a third season or not. That doesn’t mean we should worry right now. We didn’t know about Season 2 until weeks after the series premiered on Netflix. That was despite the huge following the book series had.
So, there is hope that there will be a third season. No news is good news at this point.
It looks like everyone is ready to continue the story. The cliffhanger at the end brings us another major threat to Ravka and the other Grisha and humans. There’s a drug that may have been weaponized by the Fjerdens, and that opens a huge door for more storylines of humans and Grisha working together.
We won’t say who could be involved in this storyline as that would reveal spoilers.
There’s also the fact that there are other books in the series, and not just the Crows duology*. Leigh Bardugo continued the main storyline in Ravka with Nikolai and Zoya. It is possible that the TV series could follow those stories to continue the tale. The show did drastically change a couple of elements to the Grishaverse trilogy ending, so some changes would need to be made.
