Stargirl Season 1 finale: Who lived and who died?

With two false endings, we got to see how Stargirl Season 1 came to an end. Who made it out alive and who died at the end?

Like all season finales, Stargirl left us with a conclusion to one major storyline but the promise of another. The good news is we went into this finale knowing we’ll get a second season. Now we need to know who lived and who died to figure out who could come back.

Caution: There are spoilers from the Stargirl Season 1 finale in this post if you haven’t seen it yet. You can catch up on The CW App for free right now.

Stargirl picked up where the previous episode left off. The JSA needed to figure out a way to turn off the ISA’s machine to save the adults around the world. It wasn’t easy, but they managed to figure a way to do it.

The ISA was going to put up a fight, though. Even Brainwave put his machine on a loop to help take out the JSA. He made Yolanda think he was Henry Jr. to trick her, but a line of “where are your friends” made it clear to Yolanda that Henry Jr. didn’t survive the ceiling falling on him. With a slice of her claws, she slit Brainwave’s throat and killed him.

Meanwhile, the fight in the lair helped Cindy get out of her cage. She decided to enact revenge on her dad by killing him, saving the Shining Knight’s life in the process. She did try to kill Courtney, but in the end, Courtney won. However, Cindy still lives to fight another day and has got something called “Eclipso” ready for Stargirl Season 2.

Icicle wouldn’t make it out alive

The JSA destroyed the device, leading to Icicle destroying Dr. Mid-Nite’s glasses and injuring Beth. He kidnapped Barbara and took her to the roof. While he wanted her to join him, he wasn’t afraid to throw her to her death.

Fortunately, Pat stepped in to save the day. Well, he gave Courtney enough time to arrive. A fight led to both Courtney and Jordan falling from the roof of the school. While Jordan was protected as Icicle, Yolanda saved Courtney’s life.

It looked like Icicle would recover quickly enough, except he didn’t look for the oncoming truck. Mike ran Jordan over, completely obliterating him.

Would Rick get his revenge?

While the fight was going on outside the school, Rick remained in the lair. He had revenge to seek. The Gambler had released the creature that had killed Rick’s parents.

He had five minutes of strength left. Just in the last seconds, the monster refused to fight back, almost ready to die. Rick couldn’t go through with it in the end. He decided to let the monster go, no longer under the control of the ISA.

It looks like many of the other ISA members have survived (except the principal, who was killed at the end of the previous episode) but that wasn’t made 100% clear. It looked like they were just knocked out.

Explaining the Stargirl Season 1 ending

There were two false endings to the finale. The first was Cindy finding “Eclipso.” Who is that? That’s something for us to delve into soon.

The second false ending was Christmas at Pat and Barbara’s house. We got to see Courtney and Pat as Stargirl and S.T.R.I.P.E. flying over the forest area around the town.

The real ending was that of someone going up to an apartment and asking for Pat. Starman is alive!
