Supernatural prequel spinoff gets pilot order at The CW

There may be more Supernatural coming to our screens. Well, sort of. The Supernatural prequel spinoff pilot is happening.

The SPN Family can rejoice. There is a chance that a Supernatural spinoff will finally happen. This isn’t set as a series just yet, but The CW is one step closer to bringing it.

TVLine reports that a pilot for a Supernatural prequel spinoff has been ordered. This means that just the first episode is happening right now, and it’s going to be for the network execs. If the pilot looks good and makes it look like the series has potential, it could be picked up to series and there’s a chance that pilot will end up being the very first episode of the series as long as no tweaks are needed.

What is the Supernatural prequel spinoff about?

The official name for the series right now is The Winchesters. It will focus on John and Mary Winchester, looking at how they met, fell in love, and started a life together.

We’ve seen bits of their story over the seasons of Supernatural. We know they’re important, and we also know they had their ups and downs. John struggled with PTSD after the Vietnam War, just like many other Marines and soldiers. Mary tried to leave the life of hunting behind but couldn’t quite manage it.

The series will be narrated by Adult Dean. In other words, Jensen Ackles, who will also be an EP on the series. Think of it a little like The Wonder Years with a Supernatural twist.

Just remember that Adult dean hasn’t been the most reliable storyteller when it comes to his mom. She died when he was four and when she came back to life, she wasn’t the woman he remembered and fantasized about having in his life.
